CFAAM Show Application
The Coastal Fine Art Alliance of Maine (CFAAM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating exhibit and sales opportunities for our participating artists. We welcome applicants from all New England states working in two dimensional fine art media including painting, drawing, handmade printmaking, multimedia and collage.
Applications are reviewed as received, and spaces are filled on a rolling basis. You will be notified of your application status within 3 weeks of receipt of the application. Booth assignments and final set-up details will be emailed approximately 1 month prior to show date.
Exhibitors are expected to display original artwork- limited mechanical reproductions are allowed. A total of TEN mechanical reproductions may be present in a booth at any one time (including framed and unframed material). Cards and craft items are not permitted.
Exhibitors must have a 10 x 10 white canopy designed to withstand the elements. Weights are required for all booths; NO STAKES due to sprinkler system. You will be notified in advance as to whether your space is on grass or pavement.
Acceptable Work
Original works of Art created by the hand of the artist including:
- Hand-pulled prints (original lithographs, etchings, woodcuts, engravings)
- Pastels
- Watercolors
- Oils
- Acrylics
- Mixed Media
- Encaustics
Prohibited Work
- Photographs/photographic work of any kind
- Imported work
- Crafts/Craftwork type items
- Sale items
- Books/cards etc.
Reproductions
- Artists shall be limited to up o 10 reproductions that may be presented both framed and unframed.
- All reproductions must be labelled “Reproductions” with the specific process such as:
- off-set lithographs
- heatset
- Giclee
- Inkjet
Rules of Conduct
- Artists will not display work inconsistent with a public all-ages venue.
- Artists must be present at their booth for the duration of the show hours.
- Artists must have a Maine Sales and Use Tax number available on request.
- Artists must have a white exhibiting tent designed to fit in a 10’ x10” space. More space will be provided whenever possible. Please respect your neighbors by not spreading out into other people’s spaces and walkways.
- Artists must have covered panels on which they hang their artwork.
- Smoking in and around booths is prohibited.
- Where applicable, all vehicles must be removed from the show area 15 minutes prior to the show opening. All artists must be picked up and show ready by the start of the show so please plan your arrival and set up accordingly
- All pets must be leashed and tethered at all times.
- Now in its 26th year, the Southwest Harbor shows take place on the Pemetic Elementary School Green and Harbor House lawn/drive on Main Street in Southwest
- Booths are located on both pavement and grass, and while spaces are generallylevel, we do suggest bringing shims for your display in the event of minor divots etc.
- Typically, artists can get their vehicle close to their booth spot for load in andDuring show hours, limited on-site parking is available, but there is plentiful parking within a two minute walk from the venue.
- Set up is available the Friday evening before the show starting at 5:30 pm, or at 6 amthe Saturday of the show.
- Overnight security will be provided on both Friday and Saturday
- Show hours are 9am-5pm on Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday
- All materials must be packed and removed from the venue Sunday evening
Application
Each CFAAM show has a booth fee of $165. There is no jury fee. Both new and returning artists may apply by downloading an application below. Please read instructions fully as guidelines differ for new and returning artists. Please Note: the application deadline is June 1, 2025. Early application is suggested as space is limited to 25 artists.
