Coastal Fine Art Alliance of Maine (CFAAM)
Information and Application Form 2017

About CFAAM
CFAAM is a non-profit organization founded in order to procure coastal Maine venues for outdoor art shows. Our intent is to create a traveling art gallery that displays high quality fine art by Maine artists not typically found in non-juried shows. We will invite artists who exhibit not only a notable professionalism in their media but are also actively committed to exhibiting and marketing their work. All applicants will be considered for their uniqueness of expression and handling of their particular medium. We will seek out a balanced variety of mediums in any given show.

Eligibility
The show is limited to residents with Maine addresses.

Artwork
Prohibited Work
Artists cannot display any of the following:
· imported work
· photographs or photographic work of any kind
· laser prints
· crafts or craftwork -type items
· items on sale
· books and /or cards

Acceptable work
Original works of art
All artwork must have its origination by the hand of the artist. This includes:
· original lithographs
· etchings
· wood-cuts and engravings
· pastels
· watercolors
· oils
· acrylics

Reproductions
· Artists shall be limited up to 10 reproductions that may be presented both framed and unframed.
· All reproductions must be identified as “REPRODUCTION” and the type of reproductions such as:
- off-set lithographs
- heatset
- Giclee
- Inkjet
- No Laser Prints

Rules of Conduct
1. Artists will not display nudes as CFAAM shows are in family- oriented venues.
2. Artists must be present at their booth for the duration of the show hours.
3. Artists must have a Maine Sales and Use Tax number available on request.
4. Artists must have a white exhibiting tent designed to fit in a 10’ x10” space . More space will be provided whenever possible. Please respect your neighbors by not spreading out into other people’s spaces and walkways.
5. Artists must have covered panels on which they hang their art work.
6. Smoking in and around booths is prohibited.
7. Where applicable, all vehicles must be removed from the show area 15 minutes prior to the show opening. All artists must be picked up and show ready by the start of the show so please plan your arrival and set up accordingly
8. All pets must be leashed and tethered at all times.

Applications for CFAAM shows 2017

Applications for CFAAM shows must be received by April 12
Date and locations of CFFAM shows
July 29 & 30, 2017 – Southwest Harbor
        Show times: Saturday, 9:00 - 5:00 and Sunday, 10:00 - 5:00
       • (post-dated check for space fee is April 15)
August 12 & 13 - Southwest Harbor
        Show times: Saturday, 9:00 - 5:00 and Sunday, 10:00 - 5:00
       • (Postdated check for space fee is May 26)
September 16 & 17 - Bar Harbor
        Show times: Saturday, 9:00 - 5:00 and Sunday, 10:00 - 4:00
       • (Postdated check for space fee is June 23)

Show Fees
All Shows have 35 Spaces and a space fee of $135.00
All Completed Applications must include:
        1. A $15.00 application fee PER show dated for immediate deposit (If applying for more than one show, application fees can be combined into one check).
        2. A separate post-dated check for space fee. (Refer to dates above)
        3. All checks are payable to CFAAM. There will be a $25.00 fee for all returned checks.
Attachments
        1. Applicants who have not participated in a CFAAM show in the past two years must include four photos/slides or computer print outs of their work, one of their display booth and a brief resume` of their art background, including a listing of galleries, exhibits, honors, etc. Also, your smallest size/price, Medium size/price and your Largest size/price.
        2. Those artists who are sending photos/slides MUST include sufficient postage to return the items. If you are applying for more than one show, one self-addressed stamped envelope is sufficient.
        3. Every applicant MUST include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

 · Incomplete applications and those received after the deadline will not be considered.
       
 · Exhibitors agree to abide by all rules and regulations of CFAAM, the town of Southwest Harbor, and the Chamber of Commerce. CFAAM, the towns, or the chamber are not to be held responsible for any loss, damage or injuries.
