Irene Duplissis
Auburn, Maine

Born in Washington, D.C., Irene came to the Lewiston-Auburn area at the age of nine and began her art studies in a private elementary school. This provided her with a classic introduction to the arts under the tutelage of French nuns.

Today, her work can be found at her home and gallery in Auburn and also in private collections throughout the United States and abroad. She exhibits her work in galleries and enjoys doing the outdoor art shows on the greens or on the streets where the people get to meet the artists and she gets to meet the people who-enjoy her works.

"Rustic" would probably be the best word to describe Irene's style, as she enjoys mostly topics which depict the beautiful character of our New England states both past and present, and remind us of the simple and basic truths which surround us.
